They're also one of the many small businesses Mighty has had the opportunity to work with. We sat down with Courtney and her mother, Janet, to talk about the franchise show that started it all, what keeps customers coming back, and their experience working with Mighty.
Their answers have been lightly edited for length and clarity.
Courtney: Our business started because our family really wanted to find a business that we can work together to grow. So my dad and I actually went to a franchise show in Del Mar, San Diego, and we met the CEO, Jessica Kustron, and we really hit it off with her. She is a single mom of five, and she really connected with our family. This franchise is not in California, so we were the first store in California.
Janet: Yeah, I connected with her too, because being a child of a single mom, I thought, wow, she's done so much with her life having the challenges that she's done. If she could do it, we could do it.
Courtney: So I'll give you a little tour of our place. This is our reception area, we carry lots of products, from Bushbalm to PCA SKIN. This is our brow room. We do waxing, laminations, lash lifts in here, so you can sit here with a friend or a family member and get your brows done.
And then we have three wax rooms. This is a full body wax room, so we do Brazilians, we do everything from sugaring, hard wax, soft wax in here. This is our facial room. We do PCA facials, and we just implemented our HydraFacial over here, so super excited about that. And then this is our spray tan room. So if you're looking for a spray tan, this is where you're going to get it.
Courtney: Something they love most about our business is they could come here for everything. So it's not just waxing, it's not just facials, not just tanning. They could come here, they can build a relationship with their favorite esthetician, or multiple if they want, and they can get everything here all in one spot.
Janet: I love the idea that you could go to one place and get a relationship with your esthetician and see them for all the service that you need. You don't have to go to four or five places to get all the same stuff done.
Courtney: Well, first of all, we want them to feel pampered, hence the name, the Pampered Peach. And we also have a very family-oriented environment here. All the girls treat each other like family. We just want them to feel that warm and cozy vibe from everybody, so they want to feel part of the family as well.
Janet: We want them to feel like they've had a good experience with our team and feel good about themselves when they leave, so that they can be their best with their family.
Courtney: The one thing we've noticed that's made the biggest difference in our business has been our Google reviews. We highly encourage our guests to do a Google review, because if they're satisfied, it can show other guests in the area to come and see our business. And we have now over 700 plus five-star reviews, and we've only been open a year and a half. So that has helped us tremendously as a small business.
Courtney: We are also opening up our second location in the Chino Hills area, so that's going to be coming next month.
Janet: So I met Kenya, our rep, and she came in, met me, and showed me the advantages of going with Amazon Business. I had tried to do it on my own, and it was a little bit of a disaster because I wasn't getting the shipping. I didn't get the benefits of Prime, so I started using my own private account to order things.
And it turns out, now that I've gone to Amazon Business, I've seen the benefits of better pricing and algorithms that bring me products that I really need, versus trying to search through all the millions of products Amazon has. So I'm really happy, because opening the second store, it's going to end up costing me less than it did the first time.
